Teenager Killed in Crash on Midlands Road

Tragic Accident Claims the Life of A High School Senior

An 18-year-old Sumter High School senior was recently killed in an accident near the Turbeville Correctional Institution. The teenager was driving on U.S. 378 when a driver in a Chevrolet Trailblazer failed to yield the right of way when pulling on to the road from S.C. 527. The Trailblazer hit two trucks which flipped over as the result of the impact. The 18-year-old victim died at the scene and four others were taken to local hospitals as the result of their injuries. The accident is under investigation and charges may be forthcoming.
